At FFANW, Scripture is the starting point for all truth, learning, and formation. God’s Word shapes what we believe, how we teach, and how we understand the world and every subject within it.
We believe every child is created in the image of God and therefore carries inherent dignity, purpose, and worth. This shapes how we teach, correct, encourage, and come alongside each student.
We believe learning should be marked by delight, curiosity, and peace, not pressure or anxiety. Our classrooms are designed to be warm, engaging spaces where students are free to wonder, explore, and grow.
Students grow best when instruction meets them just beyond their current ability. At FFANW, we place students where they are appropriately stretched and supported. Students typically remain in the same multi-age learning community for 2–3 years, advancing as they demonstrate mastery of foundational skills. They are never "held back" or pushed ahead by the calendar. Instead, each child moves forward with the confidence and understanding needed to thrive. The goal isn't keeping up with a grade level—it's cultivating a lifetime of joyful learning. This reflects the idea of the Zone of Proximal Development, where learning is maximized through the right level of challenge and support.
At FFANW, our three-day in-person learning model is designed to provide focused, meaningful instruction while honoring the essential role of the home in a child’s education. The three core days allow students to engage deeply in community learning, hands-on instruction, and guided academic growth with their teachers and peers.
This structure also creates space for rest, reflection, and reinforcement on home learning days, where families extend and apply what has been taught in the classroom. We believe this rhythm strengthens understanding, supports mastery, and prevents both academic overload and rushed learning.
By intentionally limiting in-person instruction to three days, we are able to prioritize quality over quantity, depth over pace, and partnership over institutional replacement—supporting both strong academics and healthy family life.
We believe children learn through their senses, bodies, and experiences. Movement, singing, play, and hands-on activity are not breaks from learning—they are essential pathways through which learning takes root.
We incorporate brain-based research to support attention, memory, and emotional regulation. Rhythms of movement, rest, repetition, and engagement help students develop strong neural pathways for lifelong learning.
Our curriculum follows the natural stages of child development. Younger students learn through multi-sensory, concrete experiences, gradually moving toward abstract thinking as they mature in understanding across all subjects.
We intentionally teach students how to focus, persist, listen, ask questions, and reflect on their learning. These habits form independent learners who are equipped for lifelong growth beyond any single subject.
We believe students understand best when ideas are connected rather than isolated. Subjects are woven together through themes and rich content, helping students see patterns, relationships, and the unity of knowledge under God’s truth.
Education at FFANW is not only academic but formative. We seek to cultivate Christlike character, guiding students in wisdom, humility, kindness, and responsibility as part of their daily learning life.
